폭동 소녀 선언문
BECAUSE us girls crave records and books and fanzines that speak to US that WE feel included in and can understand in our own ways.
왜냐하면, 우리 소녀들은 우리가 우리 자신의 방식으로 이해할 수있는 것을 우리 스르로 말하기 위해 음반들과 책들, 그리고 팬진을 갈망하기 때문이다.
BECAUSE we wanna make it easier for girls to see/hear each other’s work so that we can share strategies and criticize-applaud each other.
왜냐하면, 우리들은 서로 전략과 비판적인 지지를 공유할 수 있도록 타인의 작업들을 소녀들이 보고 듣기 쉽도록 만들기를 원한다.
BECAUSE we must take over the means of production in order to create our own moanings.
왜냐하면, 우리는 스스로의 신음들을 창조하기 위해 생산수단을 얻어 내야 하기 때문이다.
BECAUSE viewing our work as being connected to our girlfriends-politics-real lives is essential if we are gonna figure out how we are doing impacts, reflects, perpetuates, or DISRUPTS the status quo.
왜냐하면, 만약 우리가 다음과 같은 영향, 반향, 영속이나 분열의 상태들을 어떻게 다루고 있는지 이해하려고 한다면, 우리 여자친구들-정치-실제의 삶은 필수적이기에 우리의 활동은 연결되어 있어야하기 때문이다.
BECAUSE we recognize fantasies of Instant Macho Gun Revolution as impractical lies meant to keep us simply dreaming instead of becoming our dreams AND THUS seek to create revolution in our own lives every single day by envisioning and creating alternatives to the bullshit christian capitalist way of doing things.
왜냐하면, 우리는 비현실적인 거짓말과 같은 마초적인 일회성의 총기 혁명의 판타지들이 우리의 꿈이 이루어지는 것을 간단하게 대신 꿈꾸어지게 의미한다는 것을 인지 했기 때문이다. 따라서 우리는 크리스챤 자본가들의 헛소리에 대한 대안들이 꿈꾸어지고, 창조되는 것이 우리들이 삶에서 창조적 혁명을 노력을 기울여 찾아낼것이다.
BECAUSE we want and need to encourage and be encouraged in the face of all our own insecurities, in the face of beergutboyrock that tells us we can’t play our instruments, in the face of “authorities” who say our bands/zines/etc are the worst in the US and
왜냐하면, 우리 스스로의 불안스러운 모습들과 ‘beergutboyrock(맥주에 쩔은 거만한 소년 록뮤직)’ 의 얼굴에서 ‘우리는 우리의 연주를 할 수 없어’ 라고 읽혀지며, “정부”의 얼굴에서 누군가 우리의 밴드들/진들/기타등등이 우리 안에서 최악이라고 읽혀지는 상황들 속에서 격려 받길 원하고, 필요로하며 또한 격려 받을 것이기 때문이다.
BECAUSE we don’t wanna assimilate to someone else’s (boy) standards of what is or isn’t.
왜냐하면, 우리는 무엇이 맞건 틀리건간에 어떤 소년들을 중심으로 기준된 것에 동화되고 싶지 않기 때문이다.
BECAUSE we are unwilling to falter under claims that we are reactionary “reverse sexists” AND NOT THE TRUEPUNKROCKSOULCRUSADERS THAT WE KNOW we really are.
왜냐하면, 우리는 우리가 반동적인 “역-성차별주의자”라는 것과 우리가 진짜 TRUEPUNKROCKSOULCRUSADERS(진정한 펑크록의 영혼이 깃듯 투쟁가들)가 아니라는 주장들에 불안해지길 꺼려한다.
BECAUSE we know that life is much more than physical survival and are patently aware that the punk rock “you can do anything” idea is crucial to the coming angry grrrl rock revolution which seeks to save the psychic and cultural lives of girls and women everywhere, according to their own terms, not ours.
왜냐하면, 우리 전체가 아니라 각자 자신들의 말들에서 소녀와 여성들이 어디서나 정신적, 문화적 삶을 영위하는 것에서 펑크락의 “너는 모든 것을 할수 있다”라는 사상은 분노하는 소녀 록 혁명의 시작을 알리는 중요한 것이었으며, 삶이라는 것이 단순히 물리적 생존하는 것이 이상이며 명백히 자각하는 것이라는 것을 우리는 명백하게 알고 있다.
BECAUSE we are interested in creating non-heirarchical ways of being AND making music, friends, and scenes based on communication + understanding, instead of competition + good/bad categorizations.
왜냐하면, 우리는 비계급적인 방법으로 존재하는 것에 흥미를 갖고 있으며, 경쟁과 좋은 것, 나쁜 것으로 범주화 시키는 것 대신에 대화와, 이해하는 것을 기본으로 음악을 만들고, 친구를 사귀며, 씬을 만들고 있다.
BECAUSE doing/reading/seeing/hearing cool things that validate and challenge us can help us gain the strength and sense of community that we need in order to figure out how bullshit like racism, able-bodieism, ageism, speciesism, classism, thinism, sexism, anti-semitism and heterosexism figures in our own lives.
왜냐하면, 입증과 도전과 같이 무언가를 하는 것과 읽는 것, 보는 것, 듣는 멋진 일들은 우리의 삶 속에서 인종차별, 신체적차별주의, 노인차별, 종간 차별, 계급주의, 유신론, 성차별주의, 반유대주의와 동성애배척주의 따위의 헛소리들을 파악하는 것을 우리가 필요로 하며, 그러한 공동체의 감각과 힘을 얻을 수 있도록 돕는다.
BECAUSE we see fostering and supporting girl scenes and girl artists of all kinds as integral to this process.
왜냐하면, 우리는 소녀 씬들과 이 과정으로 가기 위한 모든 종류의 소녀 예술가들을 지원하고, 발전 시켜나갈 것이다.
BECAUSE we hate capitalism in all its forms and see our main goal as sharing information and staying alive, instead of making profits of being cool according to traditional standards.
왜냐하면, 우리는 모든 유형의 자본주의를 혐오하고, 전통적인 기준에 따라 멋진 체하여 얻는 이윤들 대신에 정보와 삶의 태도를 공유하는 것과 같은 우리의 주요한 목표를 보게 될 것이다.
BECAUSE we are angry at a society that tells us Girl = Dumb, Girl = Bad, Girl = Weak.
왜냐하면, 우리는 그러한 것들이 ‘소녀는 멍청하고, 소녀는 질이 떨어지며, 소녀는 약하다’ 라고 규정하는 편견에 맞서 사회에 분노를 표현하고 있기 때문이다.
BECAUSE we are unwilling to let our real and valid anger be diffused and/or turned against us via the internalization of sexism as witnessed in girl/girl jealousism and self defeating girltype behaviors.
왜냐하면, 우리의 실재와 유효한 분노를 확산시키기 위해, 소녀들 사이의 질투주의와 스스로 소녀식의 행동을 패배시키는 것을 목격한 성차별주의의 내면화를 통해 우리에게서 등돌리는 것에 내켜하지 않는다.
BECAUSE I believe with my wholeheartmindbody that girls constitute a revolutionary soul force that can, and will change the world for real.
왜냐하면 나는 소녀 스스로 혁명적인 영혼의 힘을 구성하는 것으로 현실을 위해 세계를 바꿀 것이라 나의 모든 마음과 정신과 육체로 믿기 때문이다.
