(한국어 번역 밑에) Many people took notice of the anti-Nazi picture that accompanied last week’s list of shows. Others also noticed that one of the bigger shows from last weekend was missing from the list. We would like to take a moment to explain both. For years, there has been a very small group of bands and individuals in the Korean punk and hardcore scene who have used racist/Nazi symbolism and ideas in their music and live performances. At best, these things have been done for shock value. At worst, these are things that these bands actually believe. In the past, it has been argued that these groups are merely nationalistic and not racist or supporters of Nazism, and their actions have been largely ignored. Recent events have led to a larger discussion throughout the scene about how to respond to these things. There have been incidents of bands doing the “sieg heil” Nazi salute on stage, creating merchandise with obviously racist slogans, and intimidation towards bands refusing to appear on a bill with these bands. The moderators of this page had a long discussion about how to address this situation. A vote was taken, and we have decided that we will no longer list shows that include these few, specific bands. We will also no longer list shows sponsored by record labels who support these bands and try to defend their unacceptable actions. This was not an easy decision and not one that was reached unanimously. We are not here to promote censorship or tell people what they can or cannot do. However, we have decided that we will no longer aid in promoting shows that expose people to the glorification of some of the worst ideology the world has ever seen. 많은 분들이 지난주 공연 소식 포스팅에 함께 올린 “안티 나치”사진을 보셨을것입니다. 그리고 지난 주 공연 소식중 한개의 공연이 저희 리스트에서 누락되어 포스팅되었습니다. 이 두가지의 이유에 대하여 설명을 드리는 것이 필요할 것 같아 이렇게 글을 올리게 되었습니다. 몇년동안 이 씬에서 몇몇의 소수 밴드들과 소수의 사람들이 인종차별과 나치를 상징하는 행동과 언행을 그들의 음악과 무대위에서 공연중 표출하곤 했습니다. 그 행동들은 의도했던 아니던간에 그것을 보고 들은 사람들에게 많은 충격을 주었으며 또한 그들이 나치와 인종차별이라는 것을 지지한다는 것에 대하여 알리는 행위가 되었습니다. 그와 함께 저희 코리안 펑크앤 하드코어 페이지 운영자들사이에서 많은 의견이 오가며 이들이 과연 왜 이러는 것일까에 대하여 많은 고민이 있었습니다. 혹자는 이들은 단순히 지극한 국수주의자들이다, 인종차별주의자가 아니다, 혹자는 나치지지자들이다 등 이야기가 오갔으나 일단은 결론을 낼 수 없어 상황을 무시하고 큰 목소리를 내지않고 지내고 있었습니다.
그러나 최근 심각하게 다시한번 이 문제에 대하여 논의하지않을 수 없는 일이 생겨났습니다. 무대위에서 “Sieg Heil(어깨위로 한쪽팔을 들어 경례하는 나치의 전형적인 행동)을 한다거나, 너무나도 뻔한 인종차별발언이 담긴 머천다이즈를 발매한다거나, 나치성향의 밴드와 함께 공연하지 못하겠다는 밴드를 오히려 역차별한다거나 하는 등의 말도안되는 일이 발생하였습니다.
본 페이지의 운영자들은 이 현상과 사건들에 대하여 어떠한 행동과 태도를 취해야하는지에 대하여 오랜시간의 토론과 대화를 나누었습니다.의견을 취합하여 결정을 하게 되었으며, 그 결정은 다음과 같습니다.
몇몇 나치성향의 특정 밴드들과 그들의 파시즘을 지지하고 동조하며 그 밴드들을 옹호하는 레이블의 공연정보는 더이상 저희 페이지에 리스트하지않으며 그들의 공연을 지지하지않기로 하였습니다.
여기까지의 결정을 내리는 일이 확실하게 말씀드리지만 분명히 쉬운일이 아니었으며, 운영자 모두가 만장일치 합의하에 결정된사항도 아니었음을 알려드립니다. 펑크록는 모두의 의사와 자유를 존중하고 인정하는 정신임을 우리는 알고있습니다. 이 페이지의 운영자들로서 어떠한 특정한 것에 치우쳐 검열하는 자세로 여러분들께 이건 하고 이건 하지말라고 할 권리도 없으며 그럴 의사도 절대로 없습니다.
하지만 저희는 분명히 밝히고자 하는 것은 사람들에게 “전세계를 상대로 끔찍한 일을 자행하던 존재와 사상들이 멋지고 쿨한 것이라고 받아들여지는 것은 옳지않다고 판단하였고” 저희는 더이상 이에 관련한 공연포스팅을 하지않기로 결정하였습니다.
